Travertine in kitchen

Travertine in kitchen Description

I am debating on installing Travertine over existing brick floor in my foyer, hall, family room, eating area and (http://maplered.com) kitchen.  In the South East, we rarely use tile except in bathrooms or porcelain/ceramic in the kitchen.  I don't know much about Travertine.  I want the look of not honed and (http://maplered.com) not filled.  The tile installer plans on filling the holes with the grout and (http://maplered.com) sealing it twice. According to him, it will still have the pits, etc and (http://maplered.com) it will not be shiny and (http://maplered.com) smooth.  I am worried about staining when something is spilled on it (mainly in my kitchen areas).  Is it easy to clean and (http://maplered.com) maintain??   I just can't decide and (http://maplered.com) it is expensive.
